I removed any mods not made after march 2013. I have managed to cut down a few pages of mods from my tracking center in skyrim nexus (down to 5 pages).

So, I'm restarting skyrim today so I will just use this thread for future questions about it. Thats what I love about Beths games 5 years on and I am still hearing about weirdness I have never heard of before There must have been some scripted something set to happen at a certain time and its was a little fubar'd. It can give Skyrim a fresh feel without too bigger headache. I have a list of some mods I just can't do without and then swap out the others. With the 4Gig cap for Windows 10 and 8 you can have the best PC around your still going to run into trouble faster than you would like too. I think its about 49 thousand or something silly. No kidding Skyrim has more mods on the Nexus that any of its other games. Ps: I remeber one instance where the game would just crash every time it was I think 8pm or something in the game, never could figure that one out. the problem is that there are so many great mods out there but they are script heavy and tend to conflict with one another, also I probably don't have the computing power to run them all at the same time. I made a couple of new characters after that to try out new mods, most of them didn't last long. I think I have about 630 mods loaded in the left plane of mid organiser at the moment and my game is pretty stable, but it's not always easy to get it that way. Texture replaces and non scripted mods are usually ok to change mid game but others will probably trash you save file if you remove them half way through. So keep any texture replaces to a minimum and don't download all 4K stuff. Keep the number of scripted mods down and be aware that if you are using Windows 10 or 8 there is a 4Gig memory limit. So don't use 3 different combat tweaking mods and 4 NPC overhauls. If you don't want to mess around in XEdit running down a million conflicts then stick to only one thing for any area. Skyrims engine is old and finicky before you even try and mess around with it. Its totally possible to have a heavily modded game that runs smoother than s just not easy.

The Unofficial Patches fix so many things Beths never did. Modding Skyrim a little is almost essential, at least for me.
